TAC Statement on Care of the Injured Patient

TAC strongly endorses the principle of a rigorous, evidence-based, regular, accreditation process for trauma care.

The Trauma Association of Canada endorses the Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient (aka the Grey Book, released March 2022, revised December 2023) as a general set of standards in trauma care that can be applied to Trauma Centres in Canada.  The Verification, Review, and Consultation (VRC) Program by the ACS-COT and the INESSS Program in Quebec both represent endorsed pathways to improve the quality of injury care in Canadian trauma centres.
