Condolences to the Residents of Tumbler Ridge, BC

Canada woke up yesterday to the news of a devastating mass casualty incident in  Tumbler Ridge, BC. And Canadians are mourning the loss of many innocent lives and many more injured. On behalf of the Trauma Association of Canada, I extend our condolences and our unconditional support for the people of Tumbler Ridge as they wade through these waves of grief, shock, and sadness. We stand in solidarity with you as fellow Canadians, with families of the loved ones who have lost their lives and with the survivors of the community.

Throughout the tragedy, the first responders, staff, educators and community members have been courageous in their efforts for the comfort and safety of the community that have undergone an unimaginable tragedy.

Know that as a country, we are all grieving with you collectively as a nation. Our country  is better because of the kindred spirit and compassion we have for one another. Know that you are not alone and it is imperative that you take care of your emotional needs as much as you have to care for your physical injuries. Mental health resources are available to those that need it. Please encourage people to connect with these resources.

On behalf of TAC, may peace and strength be with the people of Tumbler Ridge and those impacted during this time.

Sincerely,

Jagadish Rao, President of TAC
