The Trauma Association of Canada is seeking engaged and committed leaders from across the Canadian trauma community to serve on its Board of Directors.

As the national voice for trauma care in Canada, TAC brings together clinicians, researchers, educators, data registry specialists, and system leaders who are dedicated to improving trauma care, advancing injury prevention, and strengthening trauma systems across the country.

Serving on the TAC Board provides a unique opportunity to contribute to national leadership in trauma care while collaborating with colleagues from across Canada.

Directors provide strategic leadership and oversight for the association. Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in Board of Directors meetings (typically 5-6 meetings per year)
  • Serving on at least one TAC committee
  • Reviewing meeting materials and contributing to informed decision-making
  • Supporting TAC’s strategic initiatives and advocacy efforts
  • Acting as an ambassador for TAC within the trauma community
  • Participating in the TAC Annual Scientific Meeting & Conference and key association activities when possible
  • Board terms are three years, in accordance with TAC’s bylaws.

Who Should Apply

We welcome applications from individuals with diverse professional backgrounds and perspectives across the trauma community. This may include:

  • Trauma surgeons and physicians involved in trauma care
  • Emergency medicine specialists
  • Trauma nurses and allied health professionals
  • Trauma program leaders, data registry specialists, and administrators
  • Researchers and educators in trauma and injury prevention
  • Individuals with expertise in health policy, advocacy, governance, or education

TAC values diversity of perspectives and national representation, and we encourage applications from individuals across all regions of Canada.

Prior board experience is welcome but not required.

Serving on the Board of the Trauma Association of Canada allows you to:

  • Contribute to national leadership in trauma care and injury prevention
  • Help shape the strategic direction of the association
  • Support initiatives that improve trauma systems and patient outcomes
